PRESS RELEASE
The Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (“HKIAC”) is pleased to announce Fanghan Chen has been promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Counsel from 19 August 2024.
Fanghan joined HKIAC as Counsel in 2022, handling a variety of cases under HKIAC’s auspices, serving as tribunal secretary in both English and Chinese cases, and acting as an Editorial Assistant for the Asian Dispute Review, among other responsibilities. Prior to HKIAC, she was counsel at another international arbitration institution in Hong Kong and before that, Fanghan worked at a leading international law firm in Beijing specialising in cross-border M&A transactions, bringing diverse experiences to her role at HKIAC.
Fanghan holds an LL.M. from both the University of Hong Kong and Georgetown University Law Center; an LL.B. from Wuhan University. She has been admitted to the New York Bar and holds the PRC Legal Professional Qualification Certificate. She speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
HKIAC’s arbitration and mediation team currently comprise 12 highly qualified individuals admitted in both civil and common law jurisdictions and who can work in multiple languages, including English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Filipino, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish.
