23 Oct 2024
Hong Kong

The 2024 ADR in Asia Conference is the flagship event of Hong Kong Arbitration Week. This year’s theme “Defying Convention and Breaking New Ground” seeks to bring fresh perspectives from a diverse group of speakers who are experts in their respective fields.  The goal is to tease out on-the-ground commercial insights to test our assumptions and inspire new thinking.

In line with the theme, we will hear from senior executives and legal directors across a range of industries including finance and investment, pharmaceuticals, transport, and GenAI, where they will discuss the key challenges they face and the trends they see developing across the disputes landscape in Asia.   Recognising the global interest in Chinese inbound and outbound investment, we will explore regional nuances around the disputes that are arising now and what we anticipate seeing in the future.

Arbitration insights will include a behind the scenes look at arbitral procedures under the HKIAC 2024 Rules, exploring how decisions are made by the institution and the issues that most often arise; a robust debate on the topic of anti-suit injunctions; and a candid interview with two esteemed Judges, The Hon Mr Robert Tang and Judge Dominique Hascher.
