HKIAC Secretariat Welcomes New Team Members

The Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) is pleased to announce that three new team members have joined the Secretariat.

HKIAC appointed Dong Long to the position of Managing Counsel on 7 November 2022.

Dong is a Chinese national and comes to HKIAC after working at King & Wood Mallesons for four years in its Beijing office and five years in its Hong Kong office. Her work in private practice was mainly focused on international arbitration and related court work in a wide range of disputes relating to private equity, joint venture, trade, and construction.

Dong obtained her LL.B. from Dalian Maritime University and LL.M. from Boston University. Dong is qualified in Hong Kong and in New York and is professionally proficient in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, and speaks fluent Italian.

On 1 December 2022, Ji Yoon Park commenced her role as Counsel and Chief Representative of the Seoul office.

Ji Yoon joins HKIAC with substantial experience in the field of international arbitration. She is a Korean national who has a diverse background in Korea and China. She obtained her LL.M. in Chinese Civil and Commercial Law, LL.B. in Korean Law and B.A. in Public Administration. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in IP Law. Prior to joining the HKIAC, Ji Yoon worked as Director and Chief Representative of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) in Shanghai for several years. She also previously worked in an in-house role and interned at Shanghai International Arbitration Centre (SHIAC).

Ji Yoon will manage the HKIAC Seoul Office and will promote HKIAC’s services to the Korean market and in the region. She is fluent in Korean, Mandarin and English.

HKIAC appointed Krystal Cheng as Events Programme Manager on 21 November 2022. Prior to joining HKIAC, Krystal worked at international law firms as an event and digital marketing specialist for more than five years. Krystal’s experience includes managing corporate events and exhibitions across Asia Pacific. Krystal’s responsibilities will initially include managing the ICCA Congress, which Hong Kong is hosting from 5-8 May 2024.
