This event will explore recent developments in the field of banking and finance related disputes in Hong Kong and in London, which remains the centre for these types of disputes. It will also discuss the suitability of arbitration for the resolution of banking and finance disputes.

The topics covered will include:

  • Recent case law developments and emerging trends in Hong Kong and London
  • Claims arising out of benchmark rate manipulation and other 'hot topics'
  • The attitude of the banks and other stakeholders towards the arbitration of banking and finance related disputes
  • The suitability and use of arbitration as a mechanism for resolving disputes arising out of financial instruments

The event will be split into two 60-minute sessions.  The first session, on recent case law and other developments in Hong Kong and London, will take the form of 3 individual presentations. The second session will be less formal and will involve a lively moderated discussion, centring on the arbitration of banking and finance disputes, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.

Audience involvement will be encouraged throughout.
