The Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) has appointed Ruth Stackpool-Moore to the position of Managing Counsel. She commenced the role on 4 February 2013.

Ms Stackpool-Moore joins the HKIAC with substantial experience in the field of international arbitration, having worked with several major international law firms in Sydney, Paris and London, including most recently Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, where she was a member of that firm’s international dispute resolution group. She has experience advising on a wide range of proceedings including international commercial arbitrations conducted under the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICDR, VIAC and WIPO rules of arbitration as well as associated national court proceedings in civil and common law jurisdictions.

In joining the HKIAC Secretariat, Ms Stackpool-Moore will support the work of Secretary-General Chiann Bao to promote the use of Hong Kong arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution worldwide and will oversee the administration of arbitrations undertaken by the Centre’s Deputy Secretary-General, Liu Jing,  Counsel, James Chun and Aditya Kurian,  Assistant  Counsel, Zhong Guan.

Ms Stackpool-Moore is a graduate of the University of Sydney, with a Bachelor of Economics (Social Science) and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Hons). She is admitted as solicitor in England and Australia.
